The Chatelain family have been growing vines on the slopes around Pouilly-sur-Loire since 1630, and were among the first producers in the area to export their wines. The Hamelin family has been growing vines in Chablis for six generations, each one adding to the holdings and developing the winemaking techniques. The domaine now stands at thirty-seven hectares, spread between the villages of Poinchy, Beines and Lignorelles.
Run by the Beranger family for more than 200 years, the estate covers four hectares in the commune of Soultré. From a single Chardonnay grape variety, Pouilly-Fuissé was officially created on January 13th 1929 with the creation of the " Union des Producteurs de Pouilly-Fuissé ."
